OUR STORY

About Us

Who Are We?

different.

We are owned and operated by people in recovery. We want to approach the addiction crisis differently and continually push ourselves to think outside the box. We believe that a small group of passionate people can change the world.

We created what we wish we had.

This is Our Story.

We met at the bottom.

After seven years in the military, I became homeless, arrested, and lost in addiction. Jeffrey was overwhelmed by grief and depression after losing his family, ready to give up on life. We were hopeful but fragile—desperately searching for structured supportive housing and community.

We quickly realized no good options existed for people like us getting out of 30 day treatment and were serious about recovery. Evolution House was born from necessity—we set out to create a place that held principles of active recovery above all else. That these spiritual principles came before our individual personalities, and that we were all equal under the disease of addiction. What began as survival slowly revealed itself as our calling.

Today, as in the beginning, the heart of Evolution House reflects the spirit that saved us: It is warm, it is family, and it offers a sense of belonging and purpose that inspires and anchors a person in recovery to something greater than themselves. Our “pay it forward” mentality means that our own lives, and the lives of our fellow alumni, are devoted to inspiring the next person who walks through our doors.
